In addition to history and religion, I love cooking. I did not go to culinary school but I was trained by the Air Force. Cooking is my main job in the Air Force and I am currently responsible for essentially teaching the new troops how to cook. It has been a passion of mine. I watch a lot of shows about it and do a lot of reading about it. I get practice and experience by cooking for my family. I am a stay at home dad (in addition to a full-time night job) and one of my major goals is to cook healthy, affordable meals for my children.
Some day I hope to own a restaurant and the wife has agree I can open one up after we pay off the house (our 10 year goal.) I do not intend to be the head chef, though I have dishes which I would consider restaurant quality.
In this thread I will post recipes, tips, and ideas about cook. I deal a lot with whole wheat products, fresh natural products, as well as what to do with leftovers.
I hope you enjoy my thread.
Note: Nearly all of my recipes are actually “non-recipes” in that I do not measure out my ingredients. I go by taste and feel, which will actually allow for people to make modifications to their liking. I will try to give estimates for those non-cooks out there : )
